AMSA-INDONESIA BALI EMERGENCY RELIEF

On Friday, September 22, 2017, Mount Agung alert status has been raised to IV (Awas) – the highest
level which means the eruption is possible within 24 hours. Since then, residents started to flee out of
the red zone.

People residing within 9 km radius from the crater have been evacuated and moved to evacuation
points spread across 9 regencies in Bali. Refugees have also started to move their livestock out of the
red zone. In several areas, 12 km radius has already been cleared out for anticipation.

As of Wednesday, September 27, 2017, the number of refugees has increased to 96.086 lives, scattered
across 430 location in 9 regencies (Badung, Bangli, Buleleng, Denpasar, Gianyar, Jembrana, Karangasem,
Klungkung, Tabanan).

From September 29 until October 7, 2017, AMSA-Indonesia has been collecting donation for refugees in
Bali. The total donation received was Rp 19.969.600,00. The donation was used to purchase medicine
needed by the refugees. On 7, 14-15 November 2017, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) in collaboration with
AMSA-Indonesia went to Rendang post, Menanga post and Segah post to open a mass medication
distribute medicine to a total of 300 refugees.
